Virtual Workshops

New in 2021 Museum Study will be offering Online or Virtual Workshops.

Do you have a group that would like to participate in a workshop rather than entering everyone in one of our courses?

Our instructors have given workshops all over the world. Now they will use their expertise to deliver custom virtual workshops. The online format allows us to share resources and accomplish learning objectives that are difficult to achieve in a time constrained in person format. We can stretch out the learning over a longer period of time giving participants an opportunity to read and digest the knowledge imparted by our instructors and formulate more meaningful questions and responses.

Using our learning management system and Zoom we can curate an online workshop tailored to your group’s needs.

What does a virtual workshop look like?

One workshop unit is approximately equivalent to a full day workshop and may include readings, assignments/exercises, and feedback from the instructor via our learning management system and 4 hours of group Zoom meetings.

What does a virtual workshop cost?

Each workshop unit costs $2,000.

Who is a virtual workshop for?

Our workshops are for staff and volunteers at an institution, board members, members of an association or affinity group.

How many people can participate in a workshop?

Up to 20 people may participate in a virtual workshop.

Example Workshop

Decolonizing Museums in Practice

Laura Phillips will work with you to curate readings for the workshop.

Participants will complete a set of readings on the theory of decolonizing then meet with Laura for a sharing circle on Zoom where you will share things that resonated with you, and how you are thinking through how this applies to your life and your work.

After the sharing circle participants will chronical their personal reflections in a Journal post and get feedback from Laura.

The second set of readings will focus on practical readings, which are more specifically related to museum topics after which we will have another sharing circle.

The workshop will conclude with a second Journal post and feedback from Laura.
